Yes, because everyone else is getting a pay rise at the moment, right?

Re: RMT
Vexed, it's not the staff that offer a piss poor service, it's the company. As I've said earlier, that's what happens when you run the trains for profit rather than a service and I don't think it was the staff that asked for the railways to be privatised.

Re: RMT
I'm not trying to twist your words at all. But you've slagged off the network for being underfunded and overpriced and slagged off the unions who are the only ones that spoken out against it.

You're now slagging off a group of workers for having the audacity to stand up for themselves and ask for a pay rise above inflation from a company that made over a billion pounds last year, just because it will inconvenience you for a day or two.

What part of that has twisted any of your words. Would you have started this thread if you didn't use the trains?

I think most people that have to suffer third world train services see this as an abuse of power by the RMT who are defending people that provide a very poor service.

If they did a good job I'd defend them, but they really dont. So fuck em.

Re: RMT
Chelmsford, nice try and twisting my words. I'm not happy about personal inconvenience, but at the same time I'm not sympathising with maintenance staff who're underequipped or not very good at their jobs.

chelmsfordhammer 9:53 Sun May 31
Re: RMT
Staffs, it's not the drivers, it's the maintenance staff.

chelmsfordhammer 9:52 Sun May 31
Re: RMT
Bigot, so you agree with the rail unions when they stand up against underfunding and safety but anything that affects you for a day means they're out of order. Says a lot about you as a person really.

Staffs-Hammer 9:51 Sun May 31
Re: RMT
I generally have sympathy for those on strike but I make an exception for train drivers who are already well paid and take the piss in terms of striking

If it's support staff then that's a different story. My old man works in the rail industry and a lot of people there also think the drivers take liberties with industrial action

Re: RMT
Do they get there by bus?

chelmsfordhammer 9:49 Sun May 31
Re: RMT
Vexed, no hard on at all and no I don't work for them. It's pretty desperate stuff when you have to claim I work for the railways just because I don't straight away take the side of the bosses when a group of workers vote to strike.

As for not finding a picket line, you do realise they're normally at the tube/ railway stations and not on your computer.

Pub Bigot 9:49 Sun May 31
Re: RMT
More inconvenience to me. And they're moaning about pay. Boo hoo. They're not the only industry to be affected by low or complete pay freezes.

chelmsfordhammer 9:45 Sun May 31
Re: RMT
Bigot, and that's what you get when the trains are run for a profit rather than a service. Who's the ones that have spoken out most about underfunding and safety on the railways, the same people you're now slagging off for voting to strikes. The rail unions.

Re: RMT

You're bang on that it's with the the rail networks. I travel on their crap trains and unreliable services at least five days a week. I've also travelled around Europe and never noticed anything like the shoddy services we're served up in this country.

And the superstars that "work" for National Rail are an absolute shambles. The rail networks rely on them to keep the lines ticking over, but you can almost guarantee that there will be singnal failures during the month among other things.

I'm sticking to my guns.

Never seen a picket line when the trains or underground are on strike. They just dont turn up for work.

I'd happily get some stuff off my chest if I saw one, am I supposed to be scared of these people then?

So Chelmsford, why have you got such a hard on for this strike? Bit sad that you cant admit that you work for them isn't it? Not very brave.

Re: RMT
Vexed, again you show your ignorance. You'll probably just e mail them anyway won't you.

Happy to do so. Not that there will be a picket line, it's just a day off as usual isn't it?

Captive audience, driving to central london every day isn't feasible unless I want to spend 8 hours a day travelling. Besides I've already paid for the fucking train but these lazy cunts dont want to go to fucking work.

Work shy scum. There's really no defence for these companies or the shithead incompetents that work for them and then moan about it.

chelmsfordhammer 9:28 Sun May 31
Re: RMT
Vexed, if you're going to shit all the nasty rail workers as you claim. Don't post it on here go and tell some of them to their faces, just visit them on the picket line if the strike goes ahead.

You can tell them to their faces that they're bunch of lazy, overpaid cunts. Mind you the only problem is you won't have a keyboard between them and you.

Re: RMT
Bigot, what a load of absolute tripe. You didn't even know who was on strike, so how can you tell what around 20,000 workers are like. I think your real gripe is with the rail network if you think the rail network is that bad. But hey, it's a lot easier to slag off some workers that you've never met and class them as a load of overpaid layabouts even though you didn't even know what ones have voted to strike.
